Learn, Grow, Eat Sunflowers

This is a free event open to all ages!

Sunflowers come in all shapes and sizes. These tremendously diverse flowers are easy and fun to grow and help kids to understand all stages of gardening.

Our Master Gardener, Kim will teach attendees how to plant sunflower seeds, how they germinate, what care they need, and when to harvest and prepare the seeds for a healthy snack.

Volunteers will be able to plant sunflowers in the garden, care for the plants we have growing now, and try out some seeds.

This is an outdoor event. We recommend drinking plenty of water the day before this event so you are hydrated. Wear light clothing to stay cool and sunblock to protect yourself from the sun.
